Lake Bled is a short train ride from Ljubljana and will be your next port of halt. Spend a couple of romantic days in this retreat that was once the holiday home of the iron man of erstwhile Yugoslavia, Josip Broz Tito. Hiring a car is a breeze in Europe and if you are comfortable with driving on the right side of the road, I highly recommend that you go for it.
